Doctrines of Faith

The following is ONE-WAY Ministries’ doctrinal beliefs.  Our primary foundation is that the Holy Bible is the irrefutable Word of God.  Further to this, is the belief that the Lord Jesus Christ is the Son of God and the one, true Messiah.  His shed Blood offers the only means of Eternal Salvation for mankind and the only means of reconciliation to our Holy Father.  Moreover, the Holy Spirit (as on the Day of Pentecost) is fully operating in and through His people with all the Fruit, Gifts, Authority and Power that the early Church and Apostles operated in.  All our beliefs are based on these fundamental truths.  The following details these specific Doctrines, and offers Biblical Witness to support said beliefs.

HOLY BIBLE

The Scriptures are God-breathed and their accuracy has been maintained, by God over thousands of years.  The Bible is a purposeful collection of historical facts and events, to be used as a trustworthy guide for daily life and Eternal hope.

(16)All scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness, (17)so that the man of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work.

2 Timothy 3:16-17

GOD, THE FATHER, THE SON, AND THE HOLY SPIRIT

There is only one eternal, omnipotent, omniscient, omnipresent God who is manifested in three distinct Persons: the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit.  They are perfect, co-existent and co-eternal.  They always operate in complete agreement and harmony with the Word and with each other.

Therefore, go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, …

Matthew 28:19

MANKIND’S FALL: GOD’S PROVISION

Man was created in the image and likeness of God.  Before Adam and Eve sinned in the Garden of Eden, they had unbroken fellowship with God.  However, through their disobedience to God’s rule, all of mankind fell into the curse of sin and death.  Restoration to a relationship with God required that punishment for sin had to be addressed.  In the Old Testament, Moses was instructed by God that animal sacrifices were the only means to cover the sins of Israel.  Animal sacrifices were replaced by the one-time sacrifice of the Lord Jesus Christ, who is referred to as our Passover Lamb.  Jesus’ sacrifice did not cover our sins (as did the blood of animal sacrifices), but His Blood takes away our sins.  Realizing that men and women are fallen beings, the acceptance and provision of Christ’s death has restored our relationship with our Heavenly Father.

Then God said, “Let’s make man in our image, in our likeness, and let them rule over the fish of the sea and the birds of the air, over the livestock, over all the earth, and over all the creatures that move along the ground.”

Genesis 1:26

The next day John saw Jesus coming toward him and said, “Look, the Lamb of God, who takes away the sin of the world!”

John 1:29

Get rid of the old yeast that you may be a new batch without yeast – as you really are.  For Christ, our Passover Lamb, has been sacrificed.

1 Corinthians 5:7

… for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, …

Romans 3:23

WATER BAPTISM

Baptism in water is a direct commandment of our Lord Jesus Christ, as the first act of obedience to the Lord following Salvation.  This ordinance is symbolic of the Christian’s identification with Christ in His death, burial and resurrection.

Therefore, go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, …

Matthew 28:19

We were therefore buried with Him through baptism into death in order that, just as Christ was raised from the dead through the glory of the Father, we too may live a new life.

Romans 6:4

… having been buried with Him in baptism and raised with Him through your faith in the power of God, who raised Him from the dead.

Colossians 2:12

BAPTISM IN THE HOLY SPIRIT

The Baptism of the Holy Spirit and Fire is a Gift from God, promised by the Lord Jesus Christ to all believers in this present age, and is received subsequent to one’s New Birth.  This experience is accompanied by the evidence of various tangible Expressions as given by the Holy Spirit.

All of them were filled wit the Holy Spirit and began to speak in other tongues as the Spirit enabled them.

Acts 2:4

Peter replied, “Repent and be baptized, every one of you, in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins. And you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.”

Acts 2:38

SANCTIFICATION

The Bible teaches that without holiness, no one can see the Lord. The doctrine of Sanctification (as a definite, yet progressive, work of grace) begins at the time of original sin and continues until the reality of Salvation at Christ’s return.

Make every effort to live in peace with all men and to be holy; without holiness no one will see the Lord.

Hebrews 12:14

May God Himself, the God of peace, sanctify you through and through. May your whole spirit, soul and body be kept blameless at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.

1 Thessalonians 5:23

CHURCH

The Apostle Paul used the word picture of the human body to show the close relationship between Christ and the Church.  He is the “head” and the Church is His “body”, therefore, all members are true believers, born again by the Spirit and the Word.

From Him the whole body, joined and held together by every supporting ligament, grows and builds itself up in love, as each part does its work.

Ephesians 4:16

And He is the head of the body, the church; He is the beginning and the firstborn from among the dead, so that in everything He might have the supremacy.

Colossians 1:18

MINISTRY

God, through the Holy Spirit, specifically calls those He desires to serve as Apostles, Prophets, Evangelists, Pastors and Teachers.  The Holy Spirit equips and enables the one called with the Gifts and Talents to that particular Office.

(11)It was He who gave some to be apostles, some to be prophets, some to be evangelists, and some to be pastors and teachers, (12)to prepare God’s people for works of service, so that the body of Christ may be built up (13)until we all reach unity in the faith and in the knowledge of the Son of God and become mature, attaining to the whole measure of the fullness of Christ.

Ephesians 4:11-13

THE LORD’S SUPPER

The ordinance of the Lord’s Supper is a heart call of our Lord Jesus Christ, as a memorial to His death and resurrection.  As such, it is open to ALL who profess salvation through the Lord Jesus Christ.

Therefore, whoever eats the bread or drinks the cup of the Lord in an unworthy manner will be guilty of sinning against the body and blood of the Lord.

1 Corinthians 11:27

DIVINE HEALING & DELIVERANCE

Healing and deliverance is for the body, spirit and soul of mankind, and is accompanied by the power of God in the Person of the Holy Spirit, through the prayer of faith.  It is a

provision of the Blood of the Lord Jesus Christ and the authority of His name, made available to all through His Holy Spirit.

(17)And these signs will accompany those who believe:  In My name they will drive out demons; they will speak in new tongues; (18)they will pick up snakes with their hands; and when they drink deadly poison, it will not hurt them at all; they will place their hands on the sick people, and they will get well.

Mark 16:17-18

They overcame him by the Blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony; they did not love their lives so much as to shrink from death.

Revelation 12:11

Is any one of you sick?  He should call the elders of the church to pray over him and anoint him with oil in the name of the Lord.

James 5:14

He Himself bore our sins in His body on the tree, so that we might die to sins and live for righteousness; by His wounds you have been healed.

1 Peter 2:24

RESURRECTION OF THE JUST

The Bible promises, “this same Jesus will come back in the same way” (Acts 1:11).  His second coming is imminent, and upon His return, “the dead in Christ will rise first … after that, we who are still alive and are left will be caught up together with them in the clouds” (1 Thessalonians 4:16-17).  The resurrection of the just (or the rapture of the Church) will proceed the judgment on the earth (known as the tribulation) because, “God did not appoint us to suffer wrath but to receive salvation through our Lord Jesus Christ” (1 Thessalonians 5:9).

SECOND COMING OF CHRIST

Christ’s second coming to the earth speaks of His return, together with His Saints of the resurrection, overcoming the Anti-Christ and thereby establishing His Kingdom on the earth.  The enemy’s reign over the earth will come to an end with the final overthrow of Satan, thereby marking the beginning of eternity.

(11) I saw heaven standing open and there before me was a white horse, whose rider is called Faithful and True. With justice He judges and makes war.  (12) His eyes are like blazing fire, and on His head are many crowns.  He has a name written on Him that no one knows but He Himself.  (13) He is dressed in a robe dipped in blood, and His name is the Word of God.  (14) The armies of heaven were following Him, riding on white horses and dressed in fine linen, white and clean.  (15) Out of His mouth comes a sharp sword with which to strike down the nations. ‘He will rule them with an iron scepter.’  He treads the winepress of the fury of the wrath of God Almighty.  (16) On His robe and on His thigh He has this name written: KING OF KINGS AND LORD OF LORDS.  (17) And I saw an angel standing in the sun, who cried in a loud voice to all the birds flying in midair, ‘Come, gather together for he great supper of God, (18) so that you may eat the flesh of kings, generals, and mighty men, of horses and their riders, and the flesh of all people, free and slave, small and great.’  (19) Then I saw the beast and the kings of the earth and their armies gathered together to make war against the rider on the horse and His army.  (20) But the beast was captured, and with him the false prophet who had performed the miraculous signs on his behalf.  With these signs he had deluded those who had received the mark of the beast and worshiped his image.  The two of them were thrown alive into the fiery lake of burning sulfur.  (21) The rest of them were killed with the sword that came out of the mouth of the rider on the horse, and all the birds gorged themselves on their flesh.  (20:1) And I saw an angel coming down out of heaven, having the key to the Abyss and holding in his hand a great chain. (2) He seized the dragon, that ancient serpent, who is the devil, or Satan, and bound him for a thousand years. (3) He threw him into the Abyss, and locked and sealed it over him, to keep him from deceiving the nations anymore until the thousand years were ended.  After that, he must be set free for a short time.  (4) I saw thrones on which were seated those who had been given authority to judge.  And I saw the souls of those who had been beheaded because of their testimony for Jesus and because of the word of God.  They had not worshiped the beast or his image and had not received his mark on their foreheads or their hands.  They came to life and reigned with Christ a thousand years.  (5) (The rest of the dead did not come to like until the thousand years were ended.)  This is the first resurrection.  (6) Blessed and holy are those who have part in the first resurrection.  The second death has no power over them, but they will be priests of God and of Christ and will reign with Him for a thousand years.

Revelation 19:11-20:6

HELL AND ETERNAL RETRIBUTION

The one who physically dies in his sins, outside of Christ’s provision, is hopelessly and eternally lost in the Lake of Fire, and therefore, has no further opportunity of hearing the Gospel or for Repentance.  The Lake of Fire is both literal and everlasting.

Just as man is destined to die once, and after that to face judgment, …

Hebrews 9:27

But the beast was captured, and with him the false prophet who had performed the miraculous signs on his behalf.  With these signs he had deluded those who had received the mark of the beast and worshiped his image.  The two of them were thrown alive into the fiery lake of burning sulfur.

Revelation 19:20

TITHES

We recognize the Biblical mandate of all people to offer Tithes as unto the Lord, with joyful hearts, and as an essential component to one’s overall walk of faith. Tithes should be used to support the active ministry and for the propagation of the Gospel and general Kingdom endeavors.

In the one case, the tenth is collected by men who die; but in the other case, by him who is declared to be living.

Hebrews 7:8

“… Bring the whole tithe into the storehouse, that there may be food in My house. Test Me in this’, says the Lord Almighty, ‘and see if I will not throw open the floodgates of heaven and pour out so much blessing that you will not have room enough for it.”

Malachi 3:10

(9)For it is written in the Law of Moses: ‘Do not muzzle an ox while it is treading out t he grain.’  Is it about oxen that God is concerned?  (10)Surely He says this for us, because when the plowman plows and the thresher threshes, they ought to do so in the hope of sharing in the harvest.  (11)If we have sown spiritual seed among you, is it too much if we reap a material harvest from you?

1 Corinthians 9:9-11
